Neodymium Block Magnets

The holding power and attraction strength of most magnets is determined by the amount of magnetic material between the North and South pole face areas, which in the case of this Neodymium 50mm wide square magnet, is the 12mm thickness. Another factor that influences magnetic power is the grade of Neodymium used in each magnet. Higher grade Neodymium means more magnetic power and holding strength can be attained using a magnet of the exact same proportions. Although higher grade Neodymium is magnetically stronger, it also reduces the mechanical strength of a magnet and this needs to be taken into account when using high grade Neodymium magnets in demanding industrial or outdoor conditions.This Neodymium block contains N50 Grade material which is the second highest grade produced. Rare earth magnets with bigger height dimensions and higher grade materials can have more than twice the holding ability of a similar sized magnet with a lower height profile. Different grades and thicknesses can help guide engineers in the areas of manufacturing and product design to calculate which size magnet has the ideal strength for their particular operation or industrial process.
