Neodymium Disc Magnet – 23.3mm x 20mm | N48M High Temperature
The Neodymium Disc Magnet – 23.3mm x 20mm | N48M High Temperature is a powerful rare earth permanent magnet designed for demanding industrial and engineering applications where both high magnetic strength and enhanced temperature resistance are essential. Manufactured from premium N48M grade neodymium iron boron (NdFeB), this magnet delivers exceptional magnetic performance while maintaining its properties in elevated-temperature operating environments.
Measuring 23.3mm in diameter and 20mm thick, this large disc magnet offers a substantial magnetic contact area and impressive magnetic field strength. Its robust dimensions make it an excellent choice for heavy-duty magnetic holding, industrial automation, machinery, magnetic fixtures, separation equipment, sensors, and custom OEM assemblies.
The magnet is axially magnetised through its 20mm thickness, positioning the north and south poles on the two 23.3mm diameter circular faces. This magnetisation direction concentrates the magnetic field across the large flat surfaces, providing outstanding face-to-face attraction and maximum holding performance when used against suitable ferrous materials.
A durable nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) coating provides a smooth, polished silver finish while helping to protect the neodymium core against corrosion and everyday wear. Whether used in manufacturing, research, robotics, or industrial equipment, this 23.3mm x 20mm N48M High Temperature Disc Magnet offers long-lasting reliability and exceptional magnetic performance.

Why Choose an N48M High Temperature Disc Magnet?
The N48M grade is designed for applications where standard neodymium magnets may lose magnetic performance due to elevated operating temperatures. By combining a high magnetic energy rating with improved thermal stability, N48M magnets are ideal for machinery, industrial equipment, and engineered products exposed to warmer operating environments.
Its 23.3mm diameter x 20mm thickness creates a compact yet extremely powerful magnetic assembly with a large contact surface for maximum holding force. The substantial thickness also allows for a strong, concentrated magnetic field, making this magnet well suited to demanding holding, clamping, positioning, and separation applications.
Because this magnet is magnetised through its thickness, the magnetic field is concentrated across the two large circular faces, providing excellent direct contact performance against ferrous materials while supporting reliable long-term operation in industrial environments.

Please Note
This N48M High Temperature Neodymium Magnet is designed to provide improved thermal stability compared to standard neodymium grades. However, the maximum suitable operating temperature depends on the specific application, magnetic circuit, environmental conditions, and exposure time. Always ensure the magnet is used within its recommended operating limits.
Actual holding force depends on the thickness, grade, finish, and condition of the mating steel surface. Air gaps, paint, coatings, uneven contact, elevated temperatures, and sideways or peeling forces can significantly reduce magnetic performance.
Neodymium magnets are extremely strong but brittle. Do not drill, cut, machine, weld, or allow the magnet to collide with another magnet or steel object, as this may cause chipping, cracking, or permanent damage.
Keep away from children, pacemakers, medical implants, magnetic storage media, and sensitive electronic equipment that may be affected by strong magnetic fields.

Surface Treatment
The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Range and Tolerance
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Magnetic Properties
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
