Australia’s Favourite Supplier of Magnetic Lifters

Types of permanent lifting devices available

Our permanent magnetic lifters contain Rare Earth magnets, which are significantly more powerful than Ferrite magnets. They have applications in various industries, such as transportation, steel plate lifting, engine parts, and semi-manufactured goods and moulds.
Some of our magnetic lifting devices and magnetic pipe lifter models feature a curve or V-shaped bottom, enabling them to be used on a curved surface, like a circular pipe with a ferrous surface.
Our industrial magnetic lifters have lifting capacities from 100kg to 2000kg. With their powerful magnetic properties, our magnetic lifters are much smaller in size compared to similar products with the same lifting capacity.

FAQs

How do magnetic lifters work?

Permanent magnetic lifters are most commonly used to lift steel plates, blocks, press moulds, and load and unload machines during handling operations. They can hoist and haul moving iron blocks and other magnetic materials.

Lifting magnets offer versatility and flexibility in handling various types of ferrous materials such as sheets, plates, bars, and other components. These magnets can lift and transport equipment of different shapes, sizes, and weights, making them ideal for a wide range of material handling applications.

Magnetic lifters subject the surface or crown of a steel object to brute-force magnetic suction or cling, protecting the product with release at its known capacity in the event of a snag that might otherwise damage more valuable equipment.

Each magnet is surrounded by a rotor. Positioning these two magnets together produces a magnetic flux that can lift metallic objects when they are oriented in the same direction. The load is released when the rotor is switched because the magnetic field changes.

Do permanent magnets weaken over time?

Permanent magnets are constructed from materials made up of magnetic domains, in which atoms have electrons whose spins are aligned with each other. This alignment can weaken over time by heat and stray electromagnetic fields, which lowers the level of magnetism. The process is very slow, so don't worry—a modern samarium-cobalt magnet takes approximately 700 years to lose half its strength!

It’s possible to ‘recharge’ or regain a strong permanent magnet again. Try putting your weak magnet next to a more powerful magnet. The stronger magnetic field from the more powerful magnet will pull the electrons of the weak magnet back into alignment.

Frenergy can custom-make magnets for any use

Frenergy Magnets also manufactures custom industrial permanent magnetic lifters for any application in all sizes, strengths, and grades and even offers bulk discounts.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
