Pot Magnet: Female Thread

All Holding type magnets have enhanced magnetic strength at the base, unlike standard Disc magnets of similar size, the capped surface magnifies the holding power by deflecting the field to one side of the magnet (the base). Type D Magnets have a female attachment post that allows a threaded hook or eyelet to be screwed into the upper surface of the holding magnet, opposite the base. These magnets with a hook or eyelet attachment can be useful for securing and organising tools or equipment away from the ground and onto vertical metal surfaces, or to attach a rope for metal retrieval purposes in hard to access spaces which may include construction sites or underwater locations.

Magnetic hooks and eyelets can be repositioned as needed and do not require glues or tools to be attached to metal surfaces. They can be removed easily and reused again and again. The cap also protects the magnet from damage and corrosion and this improves reliability and extends the magnets working life. The higher initial outlay for Holding type magnets is often justified for this reason.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel vertically. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel)  are generally able to hold around 30% of the pull force listed due to the effects of gravity and the lack of traction between the surface and the shiny magnet.
