How can a magnet not much heavier than a paperclip pack so much punch? This Neodymium block magnet is one of our smallest but has a hefty pull force, making it also one of our best sellers. This sleek, black, nickel-coated magnet is the preferred choice for designers of products that require strong, reliable hold but where the look and feel of the magnet is also important. Think designers of handbags, decorative containers, model makers, Warhammer enthusiasts, toy designers, communications devices and electronics. That’s where you’ll find these block magnets lurking, doing their job without fail. These Neodymium block magnets are so versatile, so useful and so reliable and their uses are limited only by the imagination. If they haven’t performed their miraculous magnetic job, it’s because they haven’t been asked. Experiment with how you can harness the power and versatility of these Neodymium block magnets in your next project.

Surface Treatment

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

FAQ

What Are Micro Block Magnets?
Small, powerful Neodymium block magnets are referred to as 'micro magnets'. These tiny magnets are revolutionising industries by enabling the development of new medical devices, consumer electronics, Avitronics, communications and sensor applications. Small block magnets can be made from different magnetic materials, including Neodymium Iron Boron (Neo), Samarium Cobalt (SmCo), Aluminium Nickel Cobalt (Alnico), and Strontium Ferrite (Ceramic). Micro magnets are produced with high precision.
What Are Micro Block Magnets Used For?
Due to their compact size and strong magnetic force, Neodymium block magnets are used in highly technical and sensitive measuring equipment such as sensors, gauges, and switches. They are used in medical devices, sensors, optical motors, couplers, connectors, and electroacoustic devices. Tiny Neodymium block magnets can play an integral part in industrial processing equipment, commercial systems and medical devices. Neodymium block magnets are also used in sensitive assembly applications where they react precisely to different levels of magnetic influences such as ferrous material or electrical signals.
Are Small Magnets Suitable For Scale Modelling?
Yes, small Neodymium block magnets are ideal for small scale, precise modelling. Miniature Neodymium magnets are extremely strong for their size and are the first choice for scale model enthusiasts, for Warhammer figures, and in remote control cars, boats, drones and other aircraft.
What Are Other Uses For Small Block Magnets?
Neodymium micro magnets are suitable for a wide range of applications, especially in jewellery design, fashion and accessories. Inconspicuous and Small, strong, Neodymium magnets are ideal for delicate, contemporary fashion accessories and jewellery designs where they provide a practical and modern alternative to traditional fastening methods. Tiny Neodymium block magnets are also preferred by artists and designers of reusable promotional and advertising products. Small Neodymium block magnets are useful as closure devices on storage containers or to attach decorative items.
