Neodymium Disc Magnet – 15mm x 7mm | N35H | High Temperature

The Neodymium Disc Magnet – 15mm x 7mm | N35H | High Temperature is a premium rare earth permanent magnet specifically engineered for applications where both strong magnetic performance and elevated operating temperatures are required. Manufactured from N35H grade neodymium iron boron (NdFeB), this magnet is designed to maintain its magnetic properties at temperatures significantly higher than standard neodymium magnets, making it ideal for industrial, automotive, manufacturing, and engineering environments.

Measuring 15mm in diameter and 7mm thick, this precision disc magnet offers an excellent balance of surface area and magnetic depth, providing strong holding force in a compact circular design. It is commonly used in electric motors, sensors, automation systems, magnetic fixtures, tooling, machinery, and custom OEM products that operate in warmer environments.

The magnet is axially magnetised through its 7mm thickness, placing the north and south poles on the two 15mm circular faces. This magnetisation direction creates a concentrated magnetic field across the largest surface area, delivering excellent face-to-face holding strength and reliable magnetic performance.

Protected by a durable nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) triple-layer coating, this magnet provides excellent resistance to corrosion and everyday wear while maintaining a bright, polished silver finish.

Why Choose an N35H High Temperature Neodymium Magnet?

Unlike standard neodymium magnets, N35H grade magnets are specifically formulated to maintain stable magnetic performance at higher operating temperatures. This makes them ideal for applications where heat generated by motors, machinery, electronics, or industrial processes may cause conventional neodymium magnets to lose strength.

The 15mm x 7mm dimensions provide a substantial contact area while maintaining a compact overall size. This makes the magnet suitable for magnetic mounting, holding, positioning, clamping, and mechanical assemblies where both strength and temperature resistance are important.

Because the magnet is magnetised through its thickness, the magnetic field is concentrated across the two flat circular faces, delivering reliable face-to-face attraction and consistent performance in demanding environments.

Please Note

N35H magnets are designed for applications involving elevated temperatures and typically offer a higher maximum operating temperature than standard N35 neodymium magnets. However, exceeding the recommended operating temperature may result in permanent loss of magnetic strength.

Neodymium magnets are extremely powerful for their size and should always be handled carefully. This 15mm x 7mm N35H disc magnet can attract steel objects or other magnets suddenly, creating pinch hazards and potentially causing the magnet to chip or crack if allowed to collide.

Actual holding force depends on the thickness, finish, and condition of the mating steel surface. Air gaps, paint, coatings, rust, uneven contact, and sideways or peeling forces can significantly reduce magnetic performance.

Neodymium magnets are hard but brittle. Do not drill, cut, machine, weld, or subject the magnet to heavy impacts, as this may damage both the magnet and its protective coating.

Keep away from children, pacemakers, medical implants, magnetic storage media, and sensitive electronic equipment that may be affected by strong magnetic fields.

Surface Treatment

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
