Neodymium Disc Magnet – 25mm x 2mm | N38 | North Marked
Engineered for precision and performance, this Neodymium Disc Magnet measures 25mm in diameter x 2mm thick and is manufactured from premium N38-grade NdFeB (Neodymium Iron Boron) rare earth magnetic material. Featuring a clearly North-marked face, this slim yet powerful permanent magnet is ideal for engineering, electronics, product design, signage, automation, scientific research, and applications where correct magnetic polarity is essential.
Neodymium magnets are the strongest commercially available permanent magnets, delivering significantly greater magnetic strength than ferrite, Alnico, or samarium cobalt magnets of comparable dimensions. With its 25mm diameter and ultra-slim 2mm profile, this magnet provides an excellent combination of holding power and minimal thickness, making it ideal for installations where space is limited.
This magnet is axially magnetised, with the magnetic poles located on the two flat 25mm diameter faces. One face is clearly marked to identify the North pole, allowing for quick polarity identification and accurate installation in magnetic assemblies, sensor systems, and custom-engineered products.
Protected with a durable nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) coating, the magnet offers excellent resistance to corrosion and wear while maintaining a smooth, polished finish suitable for long-term professional use.

Why Choose a North Marked Neodymium Magnet?
A North-marked neodymium magnet eliminates the guesswork when installing multiple magnets by clearly identifying the magnetic polarity. This is particularly beneficial for applications involving magnetic couplings, Hall effect sensors, reed switches, motors, actuators, magnetic fixtures, and precision assemblies where correct pole orientation is critical.
The N38-grade neodymium material delivers an excellent balance of strength, durability, and value, while the 2mm thickness makes this magnet ideal for compact products and low-profile installations without compromising magnetic performance.
Please Note
This is a high-strength rare earth magnet and should be handled carefully to prevent pinch injuries or damage caused by magnets snapping together. Holding performance is achieved under ideal conditions using a clean, flat, thick ferrous steel surface with full face-to-face contact. Actual magnetic strength will vary depending on the steel thickness, surface finish, air gap, and application.
The North mark is provided solely to identify magnetic polarity and does not affect the magnet's performance. Keep away from children, pacemakers, implanted medical devices, sensitive electronic equipment, and magnetic storage media. Avoid drilling, machining, excessive heat exposure, or heavy impacts, as these may permanently damage the magnet or reduce its magnetic performance.

Surface Treatment
The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Range and Tolerance
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Magnetic Properties
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
