You never know what you might find when magnet fishing, many hope to uncover a rare or valuable item among the many discarded items. Large items such as motorbikes, bicycles, guns, safes and even WWII bombs have been found in the watery depths. Although it is fishing hooks, lures and weights that are the most common finds – perhaps allowing restocking for the more traditional form of fishing along the way.

Magnetic Fishing comes with Removable, heavy-duty 304 stainless steel M20 Eyebolt fixing, the Steel cap will protect the magnets from chipping and break due to impact. The eyebolt's shape allows for ropes and cables to be attached to the magnet with ease, making it a strong and efficient performer in lifting, holding and retrieval applications. Ideal for magnet fishing too if you already have a rope.

Each magnet can support up to 1000kg vertically from the magnetic face when in flush contact with a mild steel surface of equal thickness.

Note:

Magnet only attracts iron and iron alloy, nickel and nickel alloy. Magnet does not attract gold, silver, copper, aluminium or Stainless Steel.

Magnetic force should be tested on a base of 20mm steel plate. The thinner the steel plate is, the weaker the magnetic force would be.

Most of all the magnetic force concentrate at the bottom of the fishing magnet (One side magnetic force surface), there is nearly no any magnetic force of other surface of the fishing magnet

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

FAQ

What Is Magnet Fishing?
Magnet fishing is an outdoor hobby that is growing in popularity around the world. Magnet fishing doesn't involve catching fish, instead it uses the power of magnetism to uncover lost treasure. Australia is the perfect place to try your hand at magnet fishing because there are many unexplored waterways, creeks, rivers, billabongs and lakes where your strong fishing magnet could capture all sorts of metal treasures. These items can range from old coins, jewellery, and tools to more unusual finds like bicycles, weapons, and even safes. Magnet fishing enthusiasts enjoy the thrill of uncovering hidden treasures and cleaning up the environment by removing metal debris from bodies of water.
What Type Of Magnets Do You Need For Magnet Fishing?
You need a strong Neodymium magnet for magnet fishing. Frenergy supplies Neodymium magnets with a pull force up to 1000 kg, but also has a range of Neodymium magnets with a lower pull force which can be easier to use for beginners. You can select from magnets with a pull force of less than 200 kilograms, to our powerful magnets with a pull force of 1000 kilograms. We can also guide you with information about the right rope size and other tips to make sure your magnet fishing expedition is safe and enjoyable. Magnet fishing does not require a great deal of equipment. You only need a few important pieces of gear, including a Neodymium magnet, rope, gloves, carabiner, and storage container. Frenergy has Neodymium magnets designed to suit all types of magnet fishing, from beginners to experts.
How Strong Are Magnets Used In Magnet Fishing?
Magnet fishing requires magnets with a strong magnetic force. Frenergy has Neodymium magnets with a pull force of up to 1000kg, suitable for retrieving heavy items such as car part or safes. Our strong Neodymium magnets are made from high-quality Rare Earth magnetic material, so they can withstand the wear and tear of frequent use. Our Neodymium magnets are nickel coated, ensuring they can withstand the effects of corrosion and outdoor use.
