Neodymium Ring Magnet OD25mm x H8mm | Hole13mm | N38

Designed for exceptional magnetic performance in a compact and versatile format, this Neodymium Ring Magnet features a 25mm outside diameter (OD), 13mm inside diameter (ID), and 8mm height (H). Manufactured from premium N38-grade NdFeB (Neodymium Iron Boron) rare earth magnetic material, this permanent magnet delivers powerful holding force for engineering, manufacturing, automation, product development, and DIY applications.

Neodymium magnets are the strongest commercially available permanent magnets, providing significantly greater magnetic strength than ferrite, Alnico, or samarium cobalt magnets of comparable dimensions. The 13mm centre hole allows the magnet to be mounted over shafts, bolts, tubes, or threaded fasteners, making it an excellent choice for magnetic mounting systems, rotating assemblies, couplings, and custom mechanical designs.

This ring magnet is axially magnetised, meaning the magnetic poles are located on the two flat circular faces. This orientation provides maximum face-to-face holding performance when used against ferrous steel surfaces or paired with another magnet.

The magnet is protected by a durable nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) coating, offering excellent resistance to corrosion and wear while providing a smooth, polished finish suitable for professional applications.

Why Choose an N38 Neodymium Ring Magnet?

N38-grade neodymium ring magnets provide an excellent combination of strength, durability, and versatility. The centre hole allows for easy installation onto shafts, bolts, or threaded rods, making them ideal for applications requiring secure mounting and reliable magnetic performance. Their ring design also makes them suitable for rotating components, magnetic couplings, sensors, and custom magnetic assemblies.

Please Note

Neodymium magnets are extremely powerful and should be handled carefully to avoid pinch injuries or damage caused by magnets snapping together. Holding performance is achieved under ideal conditions using a clean, flat, thick steel surface with direct contact. Actual magnetic strength will vary depending on the application, air gap, mounting arrangement, and the material being attracted. Keep away from children, pacemakers, sensitive electronic devices, and magnetic storage media. Avoid drilling, machining, excessive heat, or heavy impacts, as these may permanently damage the magnet or reduce its magnetic performance.

Surface Treatment

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
