Neodymium Ring Magnet – 38mm (OD) x 20mm (ID) x 10mm (H) | N35

The Neodymium Ring Magnet – 38mm Outer Diameter x 20mm Inner Diameter x 10mm Height | N35 is a premium rare earth permanent magnet engineered for applications requiring powerful magnetic performance combined with a central mounting hole. Manufactured from high-quality N35-grade Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB), this precision ring magnet measures 38mm outer diameter, 20mm inner diameter, and 10mm thick, making it ideal for industrial machinery, magnetic couplings, automation equipment, sensors, and custom engineering projects.

The large centre hole allows the magnet to be installed over shafts, pipes, bearings, threaded rods, or fasteners, making it a versatile solution for both rotating and fixed mechanical assemblies. It is axially magnetised, meaning the north and south poles are located on the two flat circular faces, providing maximum holding force and magnetic coupling when mounted against a ferrous steel surface or paired with another magnet.

Finished with a durable nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) coating, this magnet offers excellent protection against corrosion, oxidation, and everyday wear while maintaining a smooth, polished finish.

Whether you're designing industrial equipment, manufacturing magnetic assemblies, or building precision automation systems, the 38mm x 20mm x 10mm N35 Neodymium Ring Magnet delivers reliable, long-lasting magnetic performance.

Why Choose a 38mm x 20mm x 10mm N35 Neodymium Ring Magnet?

The 38mm x 20mm x 10mm N35 Neodymium Ring Magnet is designed for applications requiring strong magnetic performance with a large central opening. The 20mm bore allows the magnet to fit around shafts, pipes, bearings, and mounting hardware while maintaining a powerful magnetic field around the outer ring.

Manufactured from premium N35 neodymium, it delivers significantly greater magnetic strength than ferrite or ceramic ring magnets of similar dimensions. Its balanced size and robust construction make it ideal for magnetic couplings, industrial equipment, magnetic fixtures, positioning systems, automation machinery, and custom engineering projects where reliable performance is essential.

Please Note

This is a high-strength rare earth magnet and should be handled with care. Due to its powerful magnetic field, it can attract steel objects or other magnets suddenly, creating pinch hazards and potentially causing the magnet to chip or fracture if allowed to snap together.

Maximum holding force is measured under ideal conditions using a clean, flat, thick mild steel surface with full face-to-face contact. Actual magnetic performance will vary depending on the steel thickness, air gap, surface finish, mounting arrangement, and operating environment.

Keep away from children, as powerful magnets present a serious swallowing hazard. Keep away from pacemakers, implanted medical devices, sensitive electronic equipment, and magnetic storage media. Do not drill, machine, or strike the magnet, as neodymium is hard but brittle and may crack or shatter under excessive mechanical stress. For optimum performance and service life, avoid prolonged exposure to corrosive environments or temperatures exceeding the recommended operating range for standard N35 neodymium magnets.

Surface Treatment

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
