This nickel-plated Neodymium block magnet weighs 20 grams, has a pull force of 3.5kg, Gauss 6483, Grade N42. It is 5.00mm in width, 20.00mm in length and 5.00mm in height. It's direction of magnetisation is through the height.
The power of Neodymium magnets has transformed many high-tech industries, driving the innovation and design of many vital devices in a range of applications. Neodymium block magnets are compact but extremely strong, with an impressive power to weight ratio. Because of their remarkable properties, these Rare Earth magnets are fast becoming the new method for creating attachment and bonding between both metallic and non-metallic materials. As well as their size and power, Neodymium block magnets can attach and release their magnetic hold accurately and continuously for extended periods, with negligible impact to the surfaces they bond to.
Neodymium block magnets are highly versatile and can be held in place with glue, brackets or even insertion into soft materials used in home décor and furnishings. Once the magnet is in place it can be used to attach almost anything to a steel surface or small metal striker plate positioned on a non-metallic surface to create an attachment point. There are countless applications where the unique properties of Neodymium magnets can be applied - in the workshop, in retail displays, home décor, vehicle accessories, model-making, craft, art, fashion accessories, jewellery, electronics, switches and sensors. These permanent Neodymium block magnets deliver a reliable, instantaneous bond without interfering with most other materials or parts and also remaining discreet and unobtrusive.

Surface Treatment
The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.
Range and Tolerance
Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. AMF Magnetics specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.
Magnetic Properties
Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.
