Neodymium Pot Magnet – 36mm Diameter | M4 Female Thread | 24kg Pull Force

The Neodymium Pot Magnet – 36mm Diameter | M4 Female Thread | 24kg Pull Force is a powerful rare earth magnetic mounting solution designed for industrial, commercial, and engineering applications where a secure, removable fixing point is required. Featuring a premium neodymium magnet housed within a precision-machined steel cup, this magnetic assembly concentrates the magnetic field onto the working face, significantly increasing holding power while protecting the magnet from damage.

With a 36mm diameter, integrated M4 female (internal) thread, and an impressive maximum pull force of 24kg under ideal conditions, this pot magnet is ideal for mounting signs, fixtures, lighting, sensors, tools, cable management systems, and custom equipment. The M4 threaded insert allows compatible hooks, eye bolts, threaded rods, handles, and bespoke fittings to be securely attached, creating a versatile and reusable magnetic mounting system.

The steel housing improves magnetic efficiency while shielding the magnet from impacts and chipping, making it well suited to demanding workshop, warehouse, manufacturing, and production environments. Finished with a durable nickel-plated coating, this magnet offers excellent resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and everyday wear.

Whether you're designing industrial equipment, creating removable display systems, or building custom magnetic fixtures, the 36mm M4 Internal Thread Neodymium Pot Magnet provides exceptional strength, reliability, and long service life.

Why Choose a 36mm M4 Female Thread Neodymium Pot Magnet?

Unlike standard neodymium magnets, pot magnets utilise a steel cup to focus the magnetic field onto a single working surface. This design dramatically increases holding performance while protecting the internal magnet from accidental impacts, making pot magnets the preferred choice for heavy-duty magnetic mounting applications.

The 36mm diameter offers a substantial contact area, while the 24kg maximum pull force provides dependable holding strength for a wide range of industrial and commercial tasks. The integrated M4 female thread makes installation quick and flexible, allowing threaded accessories to be swapped as application requirements change without modifying the mounting surface.

Technical Specifications

  • Coating: Nickel Plated
  • Magnetisation: Axial
  • Magnet Type: Permanent Rare Earth Holding Magnet

Please Note

The stated 24kg pull force is measured under ideal laboratory conditions using a clean, flat, thick mild steel plate with full magnetic contact and a direct vertical pull. Actual holding performance will vary depending on the thickness and condition of the steel surface, paint or coatings, air gaps, mounting orientation, and the direction of the applied load. Sliding (shear) loads are typically much lower than direct pull loads.

This magnet is designed for use on ferrous (iron-containing) materials and will not adhere to aluminium, brass, copper, timber, plastic, or most grades of stainless steel.

Keep away from children, as magnets present a serious swallowing hazard. Keep away from pacemakers, implanted medical devices, sensitive electronic equipment, and magnetic storage media. Although the steel cup protects the internal neodymium magnet, excessive impact or misuse may cause internal damage. Avoid exposing the magnet to temperatures beyond its recommended operating range or highly corrosive environments to maximise its service life.

Surface Treatment

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
