For applications that demand serious holding power, this Neodymium Pot Magnet with M8 Male Thread delivers exceptional performance in a robust, industrial-grade design. With a 48mm diameter and 35.5mm total height, this heavy-duty magnet is built to handle high-load mounting, clamping, and securing tasks with ease.

Internal magnet size within its metal casing is D38mm x 3mm.

At its core, a powerful neodymium magnet is encased within a durable steel housing, which protects against damage while concentrating the magnetic field on the working surface for maximum efficiency. The result is an impressive pull force of up to 81kg, making this magnet ideal for demanding industrial and commercial environments.

The integrated M8 male thread with a 25mm external boss (thread length) allows for quick and secure installation into threaded components, brackets, or fixtures—providing a reliable and reusable fastening solution.

Applications

Heavy-duty industrial mounting and clamping.

Engineering, fabrication, and workshop use.

Automotive and mechanical assemblies.

Signage, fixtures, and structural support applications.

Securing or suspending heavier items with confidence.

Why Choose a Male Thread Pot Magnet?

Male threaded pot magnets offer a fast, secure, and versatile mounting solution, allowing direct installation into compatible threaded holes or fittings. The steel casing enhances durability while amplifying and directing magnetic force to deliver superior holding performance.

Important Notes

Pull force is measured under ideal conditions (direct contact with thick, flat mild steel). Actual performance may vary depending on surface conditions, coatings, and alignment.

For vertical or overhead applications, effective holding force will be reduced due to gravity and surface friction.

Neodymium magnets are brittle and should be handled carefully to avoid chipping or cracking.

Surface Treatment

The most common coating for Neodymium magnets is Nickel + Copper + Nickel (Ni + Cu + Ni). This coating offers the magnet relatively good protection from corrosion and passive applications. If the magnet will be exposed to moisture or liquid then consider the use of an organic coating such as Epoxy. A hard wearing coating, Epoxy is suited to applications where the magnet will come under some friction or knocking.

Range and Tolerance

Magnets are readily available in Blocks, Discs, Cylinders & Rings. We specializes in the supply of short-run prototype magnets including Arc Segments, various magnetic orientations etc. If you need a magnet size that we don't carry in stock, submit a Design-a-Magnet enquiry for a quote on your custom magnet design.

Magnetic Properties

Neodymium magnets are offered in several different grades. The first section N30-54 has an operating temperature of up to 80 degrees. Most of our stock only goes up to N38. The second section, denoted with the "M" prefix after the grade has an operating temperature 100 degrees. After this the grades are "H", "SH", "UH" & "EH". In order for the magnet to withstand a higher operating temperature, during production more of the raw material PrNd is incorporated as these elements have a naturally occurring resistance to high temperatures.

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More
